Santa Fe Public Schools Reopen Tuesday, April 6th

Welcome Back! We are so happy for students to return to in-person learning! For those students returning in-person, we are thrilled and can’t wait to see you! For those remaining in remote learning, we will continue to provide rigorous remote instruction and opportunities to connect with the classroom community.

This compact has been developed jointly with parents for all students at Santa Fe High School. This compact describes the responsibilities of the school and the rights and responsibilities of parents and students.


The school shall:

  1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment.

  2. Build and develop a partnership with parents to help children achieve the state’s high standards.

  3. Seek and include parents in decision-making.

  4. Ensure that communication between teachers and parents is ongoing through the following:

  1. Holding parent-teacher conferences at least annually, during which the compact shall be discussed

  2. Reporting to parents at least monthly on their child’s progress

  3. Providing reasonable access to staff during non-instructional times

  4. Providing opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class and observe classroom activities

  5. Providing written school communications in a format and, to the extent practicable, in a language parents can understand

  1. Educate parents in ways that they can support their child’s learning by:

  1. Monitoring attendance and advising parents when absences are interfering with their child’s learning

  2. Providing meaningful homework assignments in which parents can participate

  3. Holding parent/students academic events that provide opportunities for parents to interact with their child in learning activities

  4. Providing workshops and presentations for parents to further develop parenting skills

  5. Holding school events and meetings at varied times to encourage parent participation


The parent/guardian shall:


  1. Ensure that the Code of Conduct of the Santa Fe Public Schools is followed by all members of the family.

  2. Act as the leader of the family concerning supervision and education of their child, include

  1. Committing to regular school attendance and punctuality for their child.

  2. Supporting their child’s learning by monitoring homework/schoolwork completion

  3. Engaging their child in positive, learning activities, and environments during out-of-school time

  4. Establishing a time and place for their child to do homework without interruption or distraction

  5. Monitoring their child’s engagement in television viewing and video gaming

  6. Knowing the whereabouts of their child at all times

  7. Engaging actively with their child’s friends and their families

  8. Being available to meet with administrator or teacher when requested


  1. Actively engage in the school by:

  1. Attending school events and meetings, whenever practicable

  2. Seeking clarification when any school communication is unclear

  3. Participating in school decision-making opportunities, whenever practicable

Compacto Entre La Escuela Y Los Padres

Este compacto ha sido desarrollado junto con los padres para todos los estudiantes en la escuela de Santa Fe High. Este compacto describe las responsabilidades de la escuela y los derechos y responsabilidades de los padres y los estudiantes.


La escuela deberá:

  1. Proveer un curriculum y una enseñanza de alta calidad en un ambiente que apoya y es efectivo.

  2. Construir y desarrollar una asociación con los padres para ayudar a los niños a alcanzar los altos estandartes del estado. 

  3. Buscar e incluir a los padres en las decisiones.

  4. Asegurar que la comunicación entre los maestros y los padres es continua por los siguiente medios:

    1. Teniendo conferencias entre padres y maestros por lo menos una vez al año, durante se puede discutir el compacto aquí hecho.

    2. Reportando a los padres por lo menos mensualmente sobre el progreso de su niño/a.

    3. Proveyendo acceso razonable al personal de la escuela durante las horas cuando no están enseñando.  

    4. Proveyendo oportunidades de trabajos voluntarios y participación en la clase de sus niños y poder observar las actividades del salón de clases.

    5. Proveyendo comunicación de la escuela por forma escrita y, en los posible, en el lenguaje que los padres puedan entender.

  5. Educando a los padres en maneras que ellos pueden apoyar a sus niños en su aprendizaje por medio de:

    1. Monitorear la asistencia a la escuela y avisándole a los padres cuando las ausencias están interfiriendo con el aprendizaje de su niño. 

    2. Proveyendo tarea significante en la cual los padres pueden participar.

    3. Llevando acabo eventos académicos dando oportunidades para que los padres puedan intercambiar con sus niños en las actividades de aprendizaje.

    4. Proveyendo talleres y presentaciones a los padres para avanzar las destrezas de cómo ser mejor padre/madre.

    5. Llevando a cabo eventos y reuniones de la escuela en horas variables para animar a la participación de los padres.


Los padres/guardianes deben:


  1. Asegurase que el Código de conducta de las Escuelas Publicas de Santa Fe es seguida por todos los miembros de la familia.

  2. Actuar como el líder de la familia en cuanto a la supervisión y educación de sus hijos, incluyendo:

    1. Comprometiéndose a que sus hijos vengan regularmente a la escuela  y que mantengan la puntualidad.

    2. Apoyando el aprendizaje de sus hijos monitoreando que la tarea y los trabajos de la escuela estén completas. 

    3. Captando la atención de sus hijos en actividades positivas y de enseñanza y del medio ambiente durante las horas fuera de la escuela.

    4. Estableciendo una hora y lugar donde su niño/a puede hacer su tarea sin interrupción o distracción.

    5. Supervisando y limitando lo que su niño ve o juega en la televisión o computadora. 

    6. Sabiendo donde esta su niño/a en todo momento.

    7. Involucrándose en forma activa en las actividades de los amigos de sus hijos y sus familias.

    8. Estar disponible en reunirse con los administradores o maestro cuando se le pida.

  3. Involucrarse activamente en la escuela por medio de:

    1. Asistiendo a los eventos y reuniones de la escuela cuando sea posible.

    2. Buscando clarificación cuando los comunicados de la escuela no están claros.

    3. Participando en oportunidades para ser parte de las decisiones sobre la escuela cuando sea practico.


Todos los partidarios aceptan este documento como un esfuerzo de buena fe para promover el éxito de los estudiantes.
