Santa Fe, NM - Adam Garcia has been named the head coach for the Santa Fe High School (SFHS) Volleyball program, Superintendent Hilario "Larry" Chavez announced on Monday, April 8th.
“With an impressive background in coaching and a passion for the sport, Coach Garcia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Santa Fe High School community. His commitment to excellence and dedication to nurturing both individual skills and team cohesion makes him an ideal fit to lead Santa Fe High’s volleyball program to new heights,” said Superintendent Chavez.
Garcia most recently served as the head volleyball coach at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School in the Albuquerque Public Schools and previously served as assistant volleyball coach at SFHS.
In accepting the position, Coach Garcia expressed his excitement to work with SFHS’ talented student-athletes to cultivate a culture of hard work, perseverance and sportsmanship.
“It is an honor for me to be named the next head coach of Santa Fe High School Volleyball. I want to thank my family, and mentors for their support and guidance throughout the process. I have tremendous support from administration and look forward to establishing a relationship with the school and community at large. I look forward to working every day to ensure that I put my best foot forward as coach and leader of this program. Our focus is to work hard both on and off the court. To the players, we have work to do, as student-athletes and as all-around citizens. I look forward to our journey together!”
SFHS Principal Jaime Chavez stated, “We are excited to welcome Coach Garcia to the Demon family. He is well-suited for our program and we look forward to the upcoming season with great anticipation.”
Deputy Superintendent & District Athletic Director Kristy Wagner said, “Coach Garcia’s fervent dedication to coaching, combined with an emphasis on fostering performance growth, will motivate our student-athletes to soar to unprecedented levels of achievement. We are looking forward to the thrilling volleyball season ahead, guided by his leadership.”
Coach Garcia joins SFHS’ coaching staff with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance and Sport, with a concentration in Physical Education.
